THE CHALLENGE
Highland Falls Country Club embarked on a renovation of its clubhouse kitchen and locker room, requiring approximately 2,600 ft2 of floor preparation. With an average 2” installation depth over both wood and concrete substrates, the project demanded a high-performance underlayment system capable of accommodating multiple substrate types while providing a smooth, durable surface for the finished flooring.
THE MAXXON SOLUTION
Working through Maxxon's Changing the Game Initiative, Covered + Clad, Structis–Atlanta, and All South Flooring collaborated to deliver a proven flooring system tailored to keep the schedule on track, deliver a considerable cost savings and provide a flat surface, ready for the finished flooring.
Covered + Clad worked with Structis-Atlanta to manage the floor leveling scope, allowing the installation team to focus on its core expertise. By leveraging Structis’ self-leveling expertise, the team accelerated the return-to-service timeline while delivering a high-quality substrate for the finished flooring.
Surface Preparation: Maxxon Commercial Multi-Use Acrylic Primer provided reliable adhesion across both wood and concrete substrates, creating the ideal foundation for the underlayment installation.
High-Performance Underlayment: Maxxon Commercial Pro Level-Crete was installed at an average depth of 2”, producing a flat, durable surface ready to receive the final floor finishes while maintaining excellent strength and performance.
CHANGING THE GAME RESULTS
Improved Cost Savings & Margins
By utilizing Maxxon's applicator network and partnering with Structis for the floor leveling scope, Covered + Clad avoided investing in specialized labor and equipment outside its core business. Additional savings were achieved by using Maxxon Commercial Pro Level-Crete, a concentrated underlayment that is mixed with locally sourced sand rather than purchasing a pre-sanded product. This reduced material and freight costs while lowering overall installation expenses, allowing each trade partner to improve project margins and maximize profitability.
Schedule Efficiency
Rather than coordinating multiple subcontractors or learning a specialized installation process, Covered + Clad relied on Structis' experienced installation team to complete the self-leveling scope quickly and efficiently. The streamlined workflow accelerated project completion and helped return the renovated clubhouse spaces to service faster.
Reduced Project Cost Liability
Working with experienced Maxxon applicators minimized installation risk across both wood and concrete substrates. The proven system—including Maxxon Commercial Multi-Use Acrylic Primer and Maxxon Commercial Pro Level-Crete—provided reliable adhesion, consistent performance, and a high-quality substrate ready for finished flooring, reducing the potential for costly callbacks or remediation.
Labor Flexibility
The partnership allowed each contractor to focus on its area of expertise. Structis handled the specialized self-leveling installation while Covered + Clad concentrated on finished flooring installation, improving labor utilization without increasing workforce demands.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
The success of the Highland Falls Country Club renovation was driven by close collaboration between Covered + Clad, Structis–Atlanta, All South Flooring, and Maxxon. Through coordinated planning, technical expertise, and proven flooring solutions, the project team was able to deliver a flooring system that prepared the clubhouse areas for continued use and long-term performance.
