GREENGUARD Gold Certification

Third-party tested for low chemical emissions to help support healthy indoor air quality.

GREENGUARD Gold Certification is an independent certification for products that meet stringent standards for chemical and VOC emissions into indoor air. The certification is designed for products used in environments where indoor air quality is especially important, including healthcare facilities, schools, and other spaces occupied by sensitive populations.

Maxxon products are independently tested and certified by GREENGUARD from UL Environment to meet strict emissions limits for VOCs, formaldehyde, phthalates, and other chemicals. Maxxon maintains both GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certifications across select products.

Low-emitting building materials can help support healthier indoor environments. GREENGUARD Gold requires products to meet more stringent emissions criteria than standard GREENGUARD Certification, making it particularly relevant for projects where indoor air quality is a priority.

Maxxon's GREENGUARD Gold Certified products can help architects, designers, contractors, and building owners select flooring systems with independently verified low chemical emissions.

Maxxon's GREENGUARD Gold Certified portfolio includes select Gyp-Crete® gypsum underlayments, Acousti-Mat® sound control mats, Commercial Pro underlayments, and Commercial floor prep products. The certified product portfolio includes products for multifamily, commercial, healthcare, renovation, and other flooring applications.

LEED Building Products

Maxxon products may contribute toward LEED credit categories for IEQ and Materials & Resources.

LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a globally recognized green building rating system that provides a framework for designing, constructing, and operating healthier and more sustainable buildings.

Maxxon products can support green building strategies through characteristics such as low chemical emissions, acoustic performance, and material sourcing. Project teams should review the requirements for the applicable LEED rating system and project before determining whether a specific product or assembly contributes toward certification.

Maxxon products may contribute toward LEED project goals in areas related to indoor environmental quality and materials and resources. Depending on the product and project, relevant areas identified by Maxxon include:

  • Low-Emitting Materials — GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certifications can support documentation related to low-emitting products.
  • Indoor Air Quality — Low-emitting flooring systems can support indoor air quality strategies.
  • Acoustic Performance — Maxxon underlayment and sound control systems can help projects address acoustic performance requirements.
  • Materials & Resources — Certain Maxxon products may support documentation related to sourcing of raw materials and recycled content.

LEED requirements vary by rating system, project type, version, and specific product or assembly. Always verify current requirements with the project team's LEED professional.

Maxxon provides product certifications, technical documentation, specifications, and other resources that can help project teams document product characteristics during the design and certification process.

LEED is redefining the way we think about the places where we live, work and learn. As an internationally recognized mark of excellence, LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations, and maintenance solutions.

With 10.5 billion square feet of building space participating in the suite of rating systems and 1.6 million feet certifying per day around the world, LEED is transforming the way built environments are designed, constructed, and operated.
