Straz Center

Spectra Contract Flooring of Tampa Florida is replacing the flooring in multiple areas of a large renovation for the Straz Center located in Tampa Florida. Commercial Flooring Distributors and Maxxon met with Spectra Tampa to discuss partnering with Floor Technologies, to provide a cost- and time-savings solution for this project. Maxxon and Floor Technologies made a site visit with Spectra and Creative Construction to evaluate and measure the space in order to provide a quote. The general contractor removed brick pavers which resulted in over 6,000 sf of floor space between 2”-5” deep that would need to be addressed before porcelain tile could be installed. Utilizing Maxxon’s Commercial Low Density Fill and Commercial Pro Level Right along with Floor Technologies installation capabilities, we were able to provide a significant cost and time savings. This phase of the project took 3 days to complete and provided a great subfloor for Spectra Tampa to install flooring.

Timeline:

6/19/25: Meeting with Spectra Tampa/CFD to discuss large & deep pour “Changing the Game” program

6/20/25: First Jobsite visit with Floor Technologies/Spectra/Maxxon/Creative Construction.

6/25: Job visit to laser/measure the space (6,043 sq’)

7/30/25: Walk through to prepare for installation/pour the following week

8/4/25: Set pins, delivered sand, and prepared site for pour the following day

8/5/25: Installed Maxxon Low Density Fill at 1 inch to 3 inches in some areas

8/6/25: Capped the Low-Density Fill with a minimum of ¾” Maxxon Commercial Pro Level Right

8/7/25: Floor turned over to Spectra Contract for installation of finished flooring
